Rooms of the KHG

Our building at Berrenrather Str. 127 is only a stone's throw away from the Unicampus at Albertus-Magnus-Platz. The KHG sees itself as a place of togetherness and coming together for students and staff from all Cologne universities.

Why and to whom do we rent rooms?

As a Catholic university community, one of our missions is to serve young people studying with our resources.

We therefore make rooms available free of charge or at a reduced rate to organisations and events that are directly related to student life. (e.g. Erasmus workshops, AStA emergency dormitory, university sports dance courses, parties organised by student councils, etc.).

Organisations and events that have an indirect connection to student life can rent premises from us for a fee, if the event is of benefit to students.

Who is excluded from renting?

  • Organisations and events that pursue a commercial objective
  • Party political events
  • Organisations and events that explicitly contradict fundamental Christian values.
  • Events and organisations that are not indirectly related to student life
  • Any form of private event (e.g. birthday parties, weddings, Christmas parties, etc.)

Who can I contact?

Our office will be happy to receive general enquiries by email sekretariat@khgkoeln.de and will get back to you promptly. A contract of use is concluded upon rental and a deposit is payable in advance.

Specific arrangements for an event with regard to technology, drinks requirements etc. should be clarified with our student staff under  service@khgkoeln.de. With regard to beer and mixed beer drinks, we cooperate with the früh brewery and with Fritz for lemonades and cola.

What is the fee for the rooms?

We distinguish between two price categories:

  1. Cooperation partners and partners with a direct student connection (e.g. Erasmus, KAAD, university sports, student councils, AStA, student union, etc.)
  2. External enquiries with an indirect student connection

As well as the length of the event:

  1. under 3 hours
  2. over 3 hours / whole day

With this information and specific room requests, you can enquire about prices at the secretary's office.

Depending on the event, there is an additional cleaning fee of 125 euros, which we will charge afterwards.

Depending on the room hired, we also charge a deposit of between 150 and 400 euros, which must be paid in cash before the event and will be refunded afterwards if the room is handed over in perfect condition.

What else needs to be considered?

As hosts, we offer the option of ordering drinks through us, which we charge at cost price.
We cooperate with the früh brewery for beer and mixed beer drinks and with Fritz for lemonades and cola.
We are happy to provide a drinks list on request. Please do not bring your own drinks.

The KHG is located in the middle of the family residential area of Cologne Sülz.
After 10 pm we therefore ask you to keep the windows closed, especially on the street side (Berrenrather Str.).
Our neighbours have a very good connection to the public order office... 😉
