FILM PREMIERE & TALK: The Assessment

Exclusive premiere on the original set of the KHG church followed by a talk

The film will be shown in the original English Version with German subtitles.

We would like to cordially invite you to the film screening in the KHG church, where parts of the film were shot. This will be followed by a discussion with the Cologne-based film production company augenschein and the moral theologian Prof Dr Dr Sautermeister, during which we will learn more about the filming and the development of the project and explore the topic in greater depth. The discussion will be held in German.

Admission is free. Places are limited. First come, first serve.

In a near future where life is optimised and controlled, parenthood is subject to a strict approval process. Mia (Elizabeth Olsen) and her husband Aaryan (Himesh Patel) have submitted their application to have children and must first undergo a suitability test. They are assigned an expert named Virginia (Alicia Vikander), who accompanies them every step of the way for seven days. The cool, unapproachable Virginia presents Mia and Aaryan with a series of gruelling challenges that push them to their emotional limits and not only shake the foundations of their relationship, but also fuel increasing doubts about the assessor's motives and the integrity of the assessment system.

THE ASSESSMENT celebrated its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2024.
