Outbreak / Burst of courage

Just before exam season begins, it’s time to let go of stress.
Release excess energy, unwind, and reconnect with what’s inside you – a space for anger, courage, and new energy.

We want to get creative and push back against the pressure: with color and sand, we let go of what has built up and create space for lightness.

Not by hitting a wall head-on, but with sand in your hands – new, creative forms of expression can emerge that relieve and release.

Together, we create a space where energy doesn’t get stuck but can flow – and where tension transforms into something creative.

Zwischen Algorithmus und Mensch

AI, Human Dignity, and the “Atrophy of the Heart”

Artificial intelligence is transforming our world at a rapid pace. But what does this development mean for our understanding of the human person? In his encyclical Magnifica humanitas , Pope Leo XIV raises the question of what we must not lose in an increasingly technological world.

At the heart of the evening are the dignity of the human person, human limitations and vulnerability, and the question of what distinguishes us beyond performance, efficiency, and technological capability.

Together with the social ethicist Prof. Dr. Dr. Elmar Nass, we will explore the opportunities and limits of artificial intelligence and discuss the role of humanity, conscience, and responsibility in a digital future.

Questions and contributions from the audience are warmly welcome.

We look forward to an engaging and open discussion with you.

When: Wednesday, July 1, at 6:30 pm in the KHG Aula

Night Cafe Gubbio

Overnight project for the homeless

In collaboration with the Gubbio Homeless Chaplaincy

You may also notice the many homeless people in our streets. In Cologne, there are only limited overnight accommodations for homeless people. We are therefore supporting Gemeinsam Gubbio at the Nachcafé in the current winter semester. A warm invitation to all: anyone and everyone can join in!

Interested parties can now contact Annekatrin Schumacher to get an idea of the task for themselves based on experiences and impressions from the past years.

Participation in the night café can be recognised for the church practice field within the framework of the study certificate.

The entry is possible at any time within the winter season from November to March. We are looking forward to your support !

Fair-Teiler

Save and share food

At the KHG, we would like to do something together with you against throwing away food and have set up a system for collecting and handing out food, the so-called FairTeiler, which was later taken over by Foodsharing.

This is a permanently installed cupboard and fridge where you can deposit and collect food during our opening hours.

Both are clearly visible directly in the entrance area of our building (Berrenrather Str. 127) and are open to all people who would like to use them as an offer for food sharing. We would be happy to have committed helpers who would join us in keeping the cupboard clean.

Please contact us at: sekretariat@khgkoeln.de

If you want to find out more about the idea of the FoodSharing, you can read more here.

The food sharing is accessible during our opening hours (see footer of the website).
