Pillar Room

The Pillar Room (87m2) with permanently installed beamer is one of several rooms that can be used for meetings, discussion rounds, presentations and similar formats.

Café Leselampe

If the university library is once again too full, then the Café Leselampe with free Wi-Fi is ideal for writing your homework in peace or studying for exams; here you can also quickly meet new people over a drink and snacks.

Auditorium

The auditorium is our largest event hall with 345m2: choir rehearsals and concerts, theatre performances and dance classes, but of course also our own large events such as the semester opening take place here. Both a grand piano and a permanently installed beamer are available here.

Kizomba

Kizomba is still a relatively new phenomenon in Germany. This dance is a very passionate and sensual, but also 'quiet' and elegant dance with Angolan roots. Musically related to Caribbean Zouk, Kizomba was shaped by both African and European influences and eventually came to Portugal through Angolan migrants. From there, the spark of fascination eventually spread to other countries in Europe. The soulful rhythms, accompanied by Portuguese or Creole lyrics, now trigger an increasingly insatiable urge to move in Germany as well.

"Playfulness" is one of the meanings carried by the word "Kizomba" (borrowed from a Bantu language). This aptly describes the attitude to life associated with this dance. It is not about rigid learning of sequences and figures, but about musicality, creativity and a lot of dance harmony. Kizomba is a dance of subtleties and is excellent for getting a feeling for good leadership and also for letting yourself be led (and enchanted). Trust, relax and find your own rhythm is the motto. However, the addictive potential should not be underestimated...

Pyschological Advisor

Crises - whether big or small - are an inevitable part of our lives. In retrospect, these are often the situations that we have grown from or that have given our lives a new direction. But when we are in the middle of a crisis, it tends to feel helpless, overwhelming or hopeless.

With the offer of psychological counselling, I would like to support you in such unsettling situations or phases of life. This can be about very different topics:

  • You are in an identity crisis
  • You have strong doubts about your self-worth
  • You fall into depressive moods more often
  • You suffer from open or hidden conflicts in your partnership
  • You want to look at family conflicts that are bothering you

All conversations are, of course, treated strictly confidentially. The psychological counselling is a cooperation project of the KHG with EFL Ehe-, Familien- und LebensberatungAppointments can be made at short notice.

Please get in touch using the attached contact.

Katholischer Akademischer Ausländerdienst

KAAD is the scholarship organization of the German Catholic Church for postgraduates and scholars from (developing) countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Near and Middle East, and Eastern and Southeastern Europe.

Through scholarships, educational events and personal and spiritual support, it promotes its scholarship holders with a view to multiplier activities in their home countries. This is done in cooperation with partner bodies and associations of former scholarship holders in these countries, with the aim of creating a (scientific) network and contributing to a holistic development that includes the religious and interreligious dimension.

As part of the so-called "Scholarship Program 2", Catholic university communities can nominate students who are already studying at a university in Germany for a scholarship.

The Episcopal Study Grant Cusanuswerk supports talented Catholic students and doctoral candidates in all fields of study - ideally and financially.

Applicants for funding are suggested by the respective school, by university lecturers or by former scholarship holders. Self-application is also possible.

The application is open to Catholic students of all disciplines, as long as you have at least 5 semesters (including Master) ahead of you, as well as high school graduates who will begin their first degree at a state-recognized university, TH, FH or PH. The Cusanuswerk also offers music and artist sponsorship and supports (prospective) doctoral students.

For the application to the Cusanuswerk (and a possible pre-selection on the part of the foundation), an interview and assessment on our part is required.
