Taizé in Łódź Silvester 2026/27

Together to Łódź!

Taizé brings young people from all over Europe together to pray, connect, reflect and celebrate.

Fancy a few days of Taizé, meeting new people, music, prayer and community? Then join us for the Taizé European Youth Meeting in Łódź!

The trip is for young adults aged 18 to 27 and is organised by Jubilate Oberberg together with KHG Köln and the youth pastoral centre CRUX Köln.

The Trip at a Glance

01.01.2027: Return to Cologne
02.01.2027: Arrival in Cologne in the early morning

We’ll travel together by coach to Łódź and take part in the full programme of the European Youth Meeting.

Are you over 27?
You can still register. If there are seats available on the coach, people aged 28 and over can also join. You’ll initially be placed on the waiting list.

Participation fee

€299 for 18–27-year-olds from the Archdiocese of Cologne
€399 for those aged 28 and over and participants from other dioceses

Night of Lights

Every year on the first Sunday in November, next time on 1 November 2026, at 6 pm, the Great Night of Lights takes place. It is the largest Taizé prayer in the Archdiocese of Cologne, attended by hundreds of young people each year. We look forward to an evening of singing, meditative texts, prayer, and community.

Bible Dinner - Soulfood & Spirit

 ‘You invite me and set the table for me. You welcome me like a host welcomes his guest and fill my cup to the brim!’ (Psalm 23)

We want to have dinner with you.
Get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere, arrive and get full. Afterwards we would like to read a short piece from the Bible and share our thoughts on it. Then we will finish with dessert!

If you like, you can bring something to eat. Or someone you would like to spend time with. Everyone is welcome.

Lunch.Deep.Talk.

Big questions. Open conversations. New perspectives.

What gives my life meaning?
Does God really exist?
Where is God when people suffer?
Who is Jesus – and what does he have to do with me?
What does forgiveness mean?
And what happens after death?

Lunch.Deep.Talk. is an Alpha course for students: seven sessions to explore God, faith and the big questions of life together. We start with lunch and an easy-going conversation. Then there’s a short talk followed by plenty of time to share, discuss and discover new perspectives.

You don’t have to believe anything or know anything.
Ask anything, be critical, listen, discuss or simply be curious.

Open to students of all denominations and to anyone wondering if there is more to life. Come along.

Faith & Fiction Reading Lounge

What happens when literature asks the big questions of life? How can stories and personal writings open up new perspectives on faith, doubt, hope and the search for meaning?

On Tuesday evenings, we’ll read and discuss texts by three very different authors:

  • William P. Young – The Shack
  • Etty Hillesum – The Diaries
  • Jon Fosse – selected excerpts

Three perspectives, three literary worlds and very different ways of approaching God, faith and life.

Come along, share your thoughts and discover how literature can raise new questions and open up unexpected perspectives on faith and life.

Eucharist

Heilige Messe CRUX Kirche

Gemeinsam feiern. Innehalten. Auftanken.

Die Eucharistie lädt uns ein, mitten im Alltag innezuhalten, aufzutanken und neu auszurichten. Zeit für Gott, Zeit für Gemeinschaft und einen Moment, der uns stärkt für das, was vor uns liegt.

Dienstagmittag feiern wir die Eucharistie in kompakter und ruhiger Form in der KHG Kirche. Ein kurzer Moment zum Innehalten mitten in der Woche. Anschließend gibt es Gelegenheit, bei einem gemeinsamen Lunch ins Gespräch zu kommen.

Sonntags im CRUX ist Zeit für Begegnung, Austausch und Glauben. Das CRUX Café ist bereits ab 16 Uhr geöffnet. Komm vorbei, lern andere kennen, triff Freunde oder nimm dir einfach Zeit für gute Gespräche.

Um 18 Uhr feiern wir gemeinsam die Heilige Messe in der CRUX Kirche. Mit guter Musik, inspirierenden Impulsen und vor allem mit Jesus Christus. Gemeinsam feiern, singen, zuhören und nachdenken und den Sonntagabend bewusst ausklingen lassen.

Anschließend geht es im CRUX Café weiter. Zeit für Begegnung, Gespräche und gemeinsames Zusammensein.
Jeden ersten Sonntag im Monat feiern wir Taizégebet.

Individual spiritual assistance

Everything that happens in life can be discussed in spiritual accompaniment.

Spiritual accompaniment wants to help people to become more aware of their own concrete lives and to become more sensitive to God’s voice, to his call and his mission in everyday life.

After an initial non-binding conversation to get to know each other, further conversations can be arranged individually according to need and desire, for example every four to six weeks. Confidentiality is guaranteed.

Meditation

To perceive mindfully, calmly and lovingly what I notice about myself: my body, my feelings, my mind. Relax into the perceived reality and stay with it.

The very simple and original way of meditation of the Ashram of Jesus (www.ashram-jesu.de) combines the poles of collection and openness; it leads into the depth of the person and brings one into contact with the existential ground. With increasing practice, even in the midst of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, one can dock on to this power from our depths with a brief pause, and act in life with growing freedom and closeness.

We practise in the rhythm of alternating sitting and walking; at the end of each session there is space for questions and exchange in conversation.
