Music Session

Do you play an instrument or sing and would like to get in touch with others who also like to make music? Then our music sessions might be just the thing for you.
We provide a stage with band equipment and lighting for jamming together and the opportunity to present your own music.

Friday 14th February at 8pm Meeting in the KHG Vatikänchen

Song Writing

Work on your own songs with professional support. We start on Saturday at 10 am. Catering will be provided.

Aus:Zeit im Kloster 2025

Enjoy the ancient monastic rhythm of praying-working-relaxing to focus on the essentials and put the finishing touches to studying for exams.

The self-catering house "in:spirit" in the monastery of Steyl offers the framework to organise the days as everyone needs it.

Cost contribution: 80 euros (incl. accommodation and catering)
Travelling by train to Venlo (included in the semester ticket)

Museumsnacht Köln „Interference“

KHG Church Hl. Johannes XXIII.

Sculptural architecture. Geometric shapes, clear lines, simplicity. The upheaval of the time at the end of the 1960s was physically realised in the church building. Starting from the tree of life in the centre of the interior, the architecture unfolds and creates a unique atmosphere and tranquillity. A church as a walk-in sculpture that is not only used by the student chaplaincies as a liturgical space, but is also open as a place for dialogue, encounters and the art of young talents.

„Interference“

An immersive light installation. In challenging times, the exhibition poses key questions about the strength of society and the role of the individual. How are we connected as a society? What values and forces hold us together in a fragmented world? Through the use of media, light and sound, intuitive connections are activated that make the relevance of cohesion tangible. Visitors can actively control the light and sound and thus interact directly with the artwork. The interactive installation is a joint project by Studio.absTime and Ruben Tsangaris.

Sport & Spirit – AcroYoga

Free training acroyoga

We meet every Tuesday between 18.30-21.00 for free training in the KHG sports hall. This means that there are no instructors and no guidance.

Acroyoga thrives on mutual exchange. The level of experience of the participants varies greatly and beginners are also very welcome.
As it is not a supervised training programme, you are welcome to come along for just an hour to get some exercise or work on your handstand.

New Format HEART:BEAT

Heart:Beat is our new Gott:Zeit format with Johannes. A musically densely packed evening to arrive and join in. In a growing collective of young artists, we play current, covered and self-written pop songs that encourage dialogue and reflection on Christian faith.

Meditation

To perceive mindfully, calmly and lovingly what I notice about myself: my body, my feelings, my mind. Relax into the perceived reality and stay with it.

The very simple and original way of meditation of the Ashram of Jesus (www.ashram-jesu.de) combines the poles of collection and openness; it leads into the depth of the person and brings one into contact with the existential ground. With increasing practice, even in the midst of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, one can dock on to this power from our depths with a brief pause, and act in life with growing freedom and closeness.

We practise in the rhythm of alternating sitting and walking; at the end of each session there is space for questions and exchange in conversation.

Wednesdays 8.00 - 9.30 pm from October 22, 2025 to February 11, 2026

Individual spiritual assistance

Everything that happens in life can be discussed in spiritual accompaniment.

Spiritual accompaniment wants to help people to become more aware of their own concrete lives and to become more sensitive to God’s voice, to his call and his mission in everyday life.

After an initial non-binding conversation to get to know each other, further conversations can be arranged individually according to need and desire, for example every four to six weeks. Confidentiality is guaranteed.
