Museumsnacht Köln „Interference“
KHG Church Hl. Johannes XXIII.
Sculptural architecture. Geometric shapes, clear lines, simplicity. The upheaval of the time at the end of the 1960s was physically realised in the church building. Starting from the tree of life in the centre of the interior, the architecture unfolds and creates a unique atmosphere and tranquillity. A church as a walk-in sculpture that is not only used by the student chaplaincies as a liturgical space, but is also open as a place for dialogue, encounters and the art of young talents.
„Interference“
An immersive light installation. In challenging times, the exhibition poses key questions about the strength of society and the role of the individual. How are we connected as a society? What values and forces hold us together in a fragmented world? Through the use of media, light and sound, intuitive connections are activated that make the relevance of cohesion tangible. Visitors can actively control the light and sound and thus interact directly with the artwork. The interactive installation is a joint project by Studio.absTime and Ruben Tsangaris.

"Paris is always a good idea!" as Audrey Hepburn once said. Experience the culture, faith and beauty of France with Simone from May 21 to 25, 2024.
The tour price is 299 EUR including travel and accommodation.
We meet every Tuesday between 6.30pm - 8.30pm for free training in the KHG sports hall. This means that there are no instructors and no guidance.
Acroyoga thrives on mutual exchange. The level of experience of the participants varies greatly and beginners are also very welcome. As it is not a supervised training programme, you are welcome to come along for just an hour to get some exercise or work on your handstand.

Heart:Beat is our new Gott:Zeit format with Johannes. A musically densely packed evening to arrive and join in. In a growing collective of young artists, we play current, covered and self-written pop songs that encourage dialogue and reflection on Christian faith.

The very simple and original way of meditation of the Ashram of Jesus (www.ashram-jesu.de) combines the poles of collection and openness; it leads into the depth of the person and brings one into contact with the existential ground. With increasing practice, even in the midst of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, one can dock on to this power from our depths with a brief pause, and act in life with growing freedom and closeness.
We practise in the rhythm of alternating sitting and walking; at the end of each session there is space for questions and exchange in conversation.

Everything that happens in life can be discussed in spiritual accompaniment.
Spiritual accompaniment wants to help people to become more aware of their own concrete lives and to become more sensitive to God’s voice, to his call and his mission in everyday life.
After an initial non-binding conversation to get to know each other, further conversations can be arranged individually according to need and desire, for example every four to six weeks. Confidentiality is guaranteed.

Shooting "Street of lost hearts"

In the near future, Coby (32), the introverted CEO of a large tech company, visits the Emo(tion) Line. In his huge laboratory hideaway, where he grows extinct plants, he spends the night with Ezra (58), a climate refugee who offers her emotional services as a mother for money on the Emo line.
‘Street of Lost Hearts’ is the postgraduate diploma film by Alexander Nowak at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM). The film sheds light on the feelings and needs of people living in a world in decline. What can Ezra and Coby, whose realities of life could not be more different, give each other to fill their inner emptiness and hopelessness with something that still gives their lives meaning?
Shooting took place from 19 to 20 October 2023 in our church of St. John XXIII.

Well-being Open Mic Night
Experience well-being through art at the first Well-Being Open Mic, a student-led EUniWell project. The first session will be hosted by EUniWell students from the University of Cologne on 14 October. If you are a local artist, apply now to perform in this pilot event!
The Well-Being Open Mic is organised by EUniWell students and aims to provide a recurring platform where students from EUniWell member universities and locals can showcase their creative engagement with themes related to individual, social and environmental well-being.
This unique project creates spaces where participants can express their creativity and explore themes of well-being. It’s an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, share your artistic talents, and be inspired by each other.
